Where did Jesus go after His resurrection? Did He go straight to heaven, or did He remain on earth for 40 days before ascending to the Father? And is it possible that Jesus actually ascended to heaven twice?
In this episode of The Bible Explained, Dr. Bryan Cutshall walks through what Scripture reveals about the events following Jesus’ resurrection. From His encounter with Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb to His appearances before the disciples, Bryan explores where Jesus went, who He appeared to, and what happened before His final ascension into heaven.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- Why Jesus told Mary Magdalene not to cling to Him
- Why some believe Jesus ascended to heaven twice
- Where Jesus appeared during the 40 days after His resurrection
- What happened on the road to Emmaus and at the Sea of Galilee
- What the Bible tells us about Jesus’ final ascension
Scripture References: John 20, John 21, Luke 24, Matthew 28, Acts 1, 1 Corinthians 15, and Revelation 1.
Whether you’ve studied the resurrection for years or are exploring these passages for the first time, this episode will help you take a closer look at what the Bible says happened after Jesus rose from the dead.
